Tattoo Guidelines & Aftercare

At Beauty in the Ink, all tattoos are priced individually based on size, design, and placement. Our studio minimum is $100.

Age Requirement

You must be 18 years or older with a valid ID to get a tattoo. North Carolina law prohibits tattoos for anyone under 18, even with parental consent.

Tattoo Design & Booking Policy

• While we strive to offer tattoo design previews before appointments, this is not always guaranteed.
• If you book an appointment for a tattoo outside my design style, the deposit will not be refunded. Please confirm your design aligns with my style before booking.

Tattoo Longevity & Touch-Ups

• Every tattoo heals differently based on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
• One complimentary touch-up is included for tattoos done by Desiree and must be scheduled between 4-12 weeks after the initial session.

Pre-Tattoo Guidelines

• Do not arrive with sunburned skin—this affects healing and tattoo quality.

Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

• A second-skin bandage will be applied post-tattoo and should remain for 3-5 days.
• When removing, do so under warm running water, peeling gently like a Command Strip instead of pulling against your skin.
• Once removed, cleanse the area and apply a fragrance-free moisturizer.
• If you experience sensitivity to adhesives, an alternative healing method will be used.

Important Aftercare Reminders

• Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and baths for 2 weeks—prolonged water exposure can impact healing.
• The bandage is meant for healing, not swimming—remove it immediately if it gets soaked or sweats excessively.
• Once healed, apply sunscreen regularly to protect and maintain your tattoo’s vibrancy.
